Town of Bombay
The Town of Bombay Town Board will hold a public hearing on September 17, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at 379 Lantry Road, Bombay, NY 12914 for the purpose of hearing public comments on the on the Town of Bombay’s community development needs, and to discuss the possible submission of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the 2025 program year. The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Office of Homes & Community Renewal (OCR) and has made $40 million available in 2025 to eligible local governments for public infrastructure, public facilities, economic development, imminent threat, and community planning. The Town of Bombay intends to apply for $617,425.26 in CBDG funds for Community Center improvements and ADA upgrades including the installation of a wheelchair lift, new ramp, door hardware, and the construction of two ADA compliant bathrooms and related site/sewage treatment system. The hearing will provide further information about the CDBG program, including progress towards beneficiary goals and program objectives, and will allow for citizen participation in the development of any proposed grant applications and/or to provide technical assistance to develop alternate proposals. Comments on the CDBG program or proposed projects will be received at this time. The hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. The meeting space is accessible to person with disabilities.
